Huge aggregate storage volume

Recently a Wiggert concrete batching and mixing plant was commissioned at the largest pipe manufacturing facility in North America; the new plant features a row-type silo for aggregate storage and dosage and in addition to this, also star bins with two automatic scrapers for an increased aggregate storage volume.

Generally speaking it is feasible to equip or retrofit a plant with star bins in addition to the normal aggregate storage and dosage in a row-type silo. The advantage of this design lies in the fact that huge aggregate volumes can be stored, thus obtaining more independence from the supply of aggregates.

In the recently delivered plant the star bins are arranged outside the factory building and designed in such a way, that they can be covered at a later time upon customer's request by a roof that will protect them against atmospheric influences.

Thanks to their robust design and their suitability for rough operating conditions automatic scrapers have proven their superiority for many years in plants all over the world. They offer high operational reliability and can bring substantial cost savings for the concrete producer. Four available operating programs ensure fully automatic sequence of operations.
