New Hollowcore Production Facility in BelgiumThe complete tower plant, including aggregate loading system, 5-compartment aggregate storage silo (storage capacity approx. 525 m³), concrete batching and mixing plant, and the complete concrete handling system were delivered and installed by Wiggert & Co. GmbH. The loading system takes the aggregates into the multi-compartment silo. Via a dump hopper for wheel loaders (with manual operator panel at site and manual operation via remote control), an inclined belt conveyor of 54 m length and a rotary distributor arranged above the multi-compartment silo the aggregates are moved into the differently sized five compartments of the silo. Two compartments for dune sand have a special interior lining (Intertol).
The tower plant features a Wiggert planetary mixer HPGM 3750-1 with an output of 2,5 m³ compacted concrete per batch. Homogenous mixing quality is ensured by the three mixing stars, each of which is equipped with three mixing shovels arranged at two levels, and a moisture measuring probe that is integrated into the mixer bottom. Water dosage for both clean and recycled water is via a contact water meter. Aggregates are weighed and batched by an aggregate weigher with 5 batching gates.
The concrete batching and mixing plant also features a cement storage and handling system (cement weigher and cement screw conveyors) as well as a three-chamber admixture weigher.
After its discharge from the mixer, concrete is taken to the production machines by a flying bucket system with tilting bucket including semi-portal crane and concrete distributor bucket.
These plant components are also controlled by the PCS control system that comes with the concrete batching and mixing plant. The PCS control system is fully automatic with wireless data transfer, i.e. neither for the flying bucket system not for the signal transfer / control of the semiportal crane signal cables / bus systems are used. Even manual operation (remote panel) for the semiportal crane data transfer is wireless. Fully automatic concrete discharge from the flying bucket into the concrete distributor and into the production machine is also controlled by the PCS control system.
Both the planetary countercurrent mixer HPGM 3750-1 and the flying bucket system are equipped with a fully automatic cleaning system. Further equipment items, such as a barcode laser for the cement silos and compliance with special safety requirements (e.g. redundant control system, safety switch with integrated lock mechanism) are also part of this modern production facility for hollowcore floorings. |
